Michelle St. Baker Childs has been affiliated with the art world in a business capacity as well as a practicing professional fine artist for 25 years.
Born in Sydney and raised near Brisbane on a farm, science and art were always part of her family culture. Michelle has degrees in Botany/Ecology, Education, and a Masters of Business Administration. Michelle has always been making art, and since 2019 has primarily focused on being a professional abstract fine artist. She currently makes her home in Scottsdale Arizona with her husband and puppy family.
STATEMENT
My work expresses liminality at the threshold of boundaries between all elements. The paintings are conversations rather than just narratives, and abstraction offers possibilities for individual interpretation. Through line, color, shape and texture, to explore connections and visually tell the story tell stories of human relationships and the coexistence of all living things.
